Union Government Working On Jamili Elections?

Eight years into power at the Centre, the Bharatiya Janata Party took some key decisions. The issues which are feared by others were implemented by the saffron party. When the other parties did not prefer to talk about Article 370, BJP revoked that all of a sudden and surprised the world.
The grand old Congress party earlier promised NRC. But the party took a backstep fearing that the exercise is against a particular community. But BJP is not like that and is working on that. Recently Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the exercise will not be taken back no matter what.
Another thing that was promised by the saffron party is 'Jamili Election', a term used to call the practice of holding simultaneous elections for Lok Sabha, Assembly, and local body constituencies. A few years back Narendra Modi said that elections should be held at a time so that the work will be reduced.
Now a Union Minister spoke about it in Rajya Sabha. When a few members raised the issue in the house, the Minister said that there is a need for elections. This made many feel that the Union Minister hinted that the Centre is working on bringing Jamili elections.
Talking about the incidents where the elections were held simultaneously, Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju said that there is a need to hold the elections together so that the work gets easier.
If the same happens then the opposition parties might create a big issue as the parties earlier objected to this. Let us wait and see what happens.
