Union Minister Compares RTO Offices With Chambal Dacoits

Lashing out at regional transport offices (RTOs), Gadkari termed them as the most corrupt in the country . Gadkari said the offficlas in transport offices loots bigger than those of dacoits of Chambal.
" I am feeling bad to say that RTO is the most corrupt organization in our country. They are indulged in looting and beats dacoits did in the Chambal," says the minister
Gadkari opined that the entire sector will be cleaned once the Road Transport and Safety Bill is enacted.Gadkari further said that driving licences cannot be obtained so easily as in India and thirty per cent of those are bogus licences.
The proposed Bill incorporates the best practices and look after all issues related to vehicle regulation and road safety. Once the bill was implemented traffic offenders have to pay penalties of up to Rs 3 lakh. It will also bring rule on giving a minimum 7-year imprisonment in case of death due to rash driving.
