United States: Students administered Covaxin, Sputnik V, directed to take WHO approved vaccines
By: Tupaki Desk | 6 Jun 2021 6:20 AM GMTThe issues pertaining to the vaccines are causing big troubles to Indian studies in the United States, as the Universities directed the studies to re-vaccinate themselves if they received Covaxin or Russia's Sputnik V.
It is said that more than 400 colleges and universities across the United States issued directives to the students coming for academic purposes to take the vaccines that are approved by the WHO.
Saying that the decision to ask the students to take the WHO-approved vaccines as a safety precaution, the Universities said, the lack of data over the efficacy of the safety offered by the vaccines is the main reason.
The students are worried about the orders issued by the universities as they express their fears and concerns over taking two vaccines. They fear that they might develop adverse symptoms after taking the vaccines.
The New York Times quoted CDC spokesperson Kristen Nordlund as saying that, the safety offered and effectiveness of taking two different vaccines were not studied so far, as the vaccine cannot be changeable.
This will have a deadly impact on Indian students, who reach the land of opportunities to pursue higher education. On average, around 200,000 students reach the US seeking admissions in US colleges and universities.
