To counter the apprehensions of the people in taking the vaccine doses, the officials of Madurai district in Tamil Nadu issued a new order making it compulsory for everyone to take full vaccination to enter the public places and pubs. The new restrictions will come into effect from Monday. Order on the guidelines was issued on the name of the district collector reportedly.

As per the media reports, the authorities in the order said that to enter business establishments, supermarkets, theatres, liquor stalls, and other places, people should take the vaccine doses. The Madurai administration will make sure that only vaccinated people enter public places.

Besides barring people who did not get their vaccine doses in these places, the authorities are also ramping up the facilities and arrangements to find out the unvaccinated people in the limits and shift them to the vaccine centers to make them get the jabs.

It is said that the Madurai Collector had urged people to take the doses last week so that they won't face any issues while entering these places. They were given a one-week time for the vaccine doses. With people not taking it seriously, the restrictions were imposed, the Collector said as per the news agency ANI.

In the past 24 hours, Tamil Nadu reported 688 fresh infections which take the total toll to 2,734,034. After eleven people have succumbed to respiratory disease in the same period, the number of casualties caused by the pandemic in the state rose to 36,586.
