Upset Ponguleti to quit TRS if he does not get MLC ticket

Senior TRS leader and former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is said to be planning to bid adieu to the TRS if he is not rewarded with an MLC seat in lieu of his loyalty to the party and the party boss. Srinivas Reddy is said to have already held consultations with his followers on this issue. If his name is not there in the list, he might announce his resignation from the party, say sources.
Ponguleti is a strong leader with a firm base in Khammam. He entered politics by joining the YSRCP in 2012. Later he contested and won as Khammam MP. Not just that. He also worked hard to get YSRCP MLAs elected from Wyra, Pinapaka and Aswaraopet. He was later invited into the TRS by no less a person than KCR himself. He assured to take care of Ponguleti's political interests.
However, KCR simply reneged on the promise later. In the 2020 Rajya Sabha elections, he was kept aside. Even now, his work and his loyalty are not rewarded. If he does not get an MLC seat this time, his political career is almost doomed. Hence, he is pulling all stops to get an MLC seat. His followers are said to be pressurising him to take a firm decision if he is denied the ticket this time too.
