This Nobel Prize Winner hailed Note Ban!
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Oct 2017 8:51 AM GMTUS Economist Richard H Thaler bagged Nobel Prize in economics. He will be presented 9 million Swedish crown ($1.1 million) prize by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
Interestingly, Richard Thaler had showered praises on India's demonetisation scrapping old Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes on November 8th. 'This is a policy I have long supported. First step toward cashless and good start on reducing corruption,' he wrote, soon after PM Modi's announcement.
The Economist, however, disapproved introduction of new Rs 2000 notes when a netizen informed him about it. 'Really? Damn,' he reacted while expressing his displeasure.
Few days ago, Narendra Modi shot back at BJP Veterans and Opposition Leaders who targeted him for decline in GDP (5.7 percent) to three years low. He opined GDP during UPA Regime is far below this mark.
