US: Green Card Holders Can Now Apply For Police Jobs!

The American Police Department is one of the strongest and oldest forces in the world. We can see a standard dress code for the Police three with big stars. Most of the time, we see American citizens getting Police jobs in the country. But this might change now.
It is being said that immigrants might become cops in America. As per the reports, the Washington Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reportedly said that green card holders can also apply for the Police jobs and their applications would be accepted. This can be seen as a landmark decision.
However, there is a catch here. Getting a green card is not that easy and it is a lengthy process. Even though aspirants get the cards, their age limit might create issues for them in the process. But young people who get the cards might be eligible for the jobs.
Looking at this from a positive lense, what the MPD did is very acceptable. Often we hear that immigrants and blacks are targeted. With the new provision coming into effect, we can see green card holders getting into the Police department.
On the other hand, the population of immigrants is increasing rapidly and in some areas we can see them dominating the local Americans as far as the population is concerned.
Despite the big population, the green card holders get into professions like doctors, engineers and others. Due to various reasons, they are not allowed into the Police Department which is now changed.
