US Guard opens Car door expecting Modi's Wife

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first global leader to be invited to White House after Donald Trump sworn-in as the 45th President of United States.
A red-carpet welcome was offered to the Indian PM when he arrived to the White House for a face-to-face interaction with US President. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump waited to greet Modi when he arrived at the White House.
Two Marine Corps stood on either sides of Modi's car and saluted to the Indian PM. They took two steps towards the car and tried to open the door at once after counting three. While Modi was seated on the right side, The Guard standing on the left side opened the door expecting Mrs Modi to be there but he could find none.
Has White House don't have info that Modi's Wife neither stays with him nor travels with him? Or Did the Marine Corps just followed the protocol irrespective of who is in the car? Can anybody give some clarity???
