We all know that US Government is tightening the immigration rules in the recent past and the present system of allotment of green cards has a backlog of 1.5 million people waiting for the green card.

A group of 200 Indians who are highly skilled workers from various fields met at the US Capitol Building in Washington and they visited the lawmakers' offices to convince them for removing the per-country limit in allotting the green cards. They are saying the present system of allotting green cards is unjust because the waiting period could be as long as 70 years.

Six US lawmakers are supporting this high skilled workers group. Congressman Kevin Yoder who is seeking the government to eliminate per-country limit through HR 392 or Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act. He said that "We are seeking justice. It's unjust to put people in the back of a line simply based on their country."

He said that it is wrong to stop a group of people getting green cards just because they happened to be from India. Another Congressman Mike Doyle from Pittsburg supported the HR 392.
