US To Block Visas Of Those Using Public Benefits

Trump Administration disclosed its proposal to block visas and green cards of immigrants if they or their family use certain public benefits.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Saturday produced a new rule to make immigrants seeking to enter the US ineligible for visas or green cards if they are deemed likely to receive certain public benefits once they come to the country. Even Immigrants would be denied change in legal status if they receive public benefits such as public housing and food stamps.
As per the federal law, Immigrants to the US should show they can support themselves financially. If the proposed rule is implemented, Many Immigrants will end up losing their Visas & Green Cards, or else they will have to forgo public benefits.
After the entry of the proposed law in the Federal Register, Feedback from the Americans and Interest Groups would be sought. DHS would review the feedback before finalizing the regulation.
