US Reports 4,500 Deaths In 24 Hours

The US is turning out to be the worst-hit nation of the COVID-19 pandemic as 4,500 deaths were reported in the Country in the past 24 hours. This is the highest spike of deaths recorded on a single day.
With this, the toll of the fatalities in the nation has surpassed 33,000 ringing the danger bells. The previous highest single day deaths recorded were 2,569 which was reported on Wednesday.
The data reveals that more than 671,000 people in the US were infected with the virus, claiming more than 33,000 deaths which is the highest in the world for any country.
'Models predicted between 1.5 million and 2.2 million US deaths. If there was no mitigation, it could have even been higher than that and between 100,000 and 240,000 deaths with mitigation. It is looking like we will come far under even these lowest numbers,' Donald Trump said.
The novel coronavirus originated from the Wuhan Province of China has resulted in more than 144,000 deaths leaving over 2.1 million people infected with the virus globally.
