The United States President Joe Biden has been battling to increase the annual count of H-1B visas issued to foreign nationals. The promise he made in this regard before the elections has done wonders for him in the elections.

Now the Joe Biden administration has announced that the H-1B policy introduced by the previous Donald Trump administration will be postponed for some time.

To allow some time for the immigration agency to crave a new visa registration system, the Joe Biden administration said, the system to offer foreign work with the lottery system will be continued till the 31st of December this year.

"To give USCIS more time to develop, test, and implement the modifications to the H-1B registration system and selection process, DHS is delaying the effective date of this final rule from March 9, 2021, to December 31, 2021," the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said.

It has to be noted that the former President of the United States, Donald Trump has amended the H-1B visa system. The amendment bats for prioritizing the higher wages and skills over the lottery system. Trump made the changes, days before his tenure came to an end.

The changes in the visa rules say priority would be given to people who earn high salaries in their fields. The visas would be allotted for level 4 first, which is given to the experienced workers.

The new system works in a way that, after level 4, visas will be given to other levels. The work visas will be allotted till the annual count of the visas are met in the nation.
