No need of Lipstick & Fashion for College Girls!

Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala stirred a controversy by advising college girls to give up fashion. He made these remarks during the valedictory address of the 103rd Indian Science Congress in Mysuru recently.
Saying that both boys & girls are intelligent, Vajubhai Vala advised males to give up specific addictions and females to shed fashion to achieve something in life. He opined Girls come to college for studies not to participate in beauty pageant and there is no need to get their eyebrows done, apply lipstick and trim the hair.
Even though the Governor's comments garnered huge applause in Mysuru University, Women Organisations have condemned what was being preached by the elderly gentleman and questioned what does fashion have to do with studies. They say its strictly a personal issue and depends on the choice of an individual. 'Can a fashionable girl can't be intelligent & good at academic career?,' asks Women's Groups.
