Vallabhaneni Vamsi Getting Ready For Bypoll

Is firebrand MLA from Gannavaram Vallabhaneni Vamsi preparing ground for resigning from the Assembly and seeking a re-election? Sources say Vamsi is pretty confident of winning the bypoll if and when held. This victory, he feels, will formalize his entry into the YSRCP.
Vamsi, who has been with the TDP all through, has veered towards the YSRCP even while being an MLA. He is almost functioning as an unattached member in the house. However, he has decided to resign from the house and seek re-election so that he can officially become a member of the YSRCP. He has ironed out the differences with the key leaders of the YSRCP in Gannavaram. For instance, Yarlagadda Venkata Rao, who had unsuccessfully contested against him in the 2019 elections on a YSRCP ticket, has been given the DCCB chairpersonâs post. However, another senior leader Dutta Ramachandra Rao is still opposed to him. How Vamsi brings him round remains to be seen.
After Vamsi, another TDP stalwart Karanam Balaram too has joined the YSRCP. If Vamsi wins the bypoll, it will open floodgates for the TDP MLAs to resign the party, join YSRCP and get re-elected to the assembly. As of now, Vamsi is keeping his cards close to his chest.
