The ongoing Coronavirus had a devastating effect on Indian women's team cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy. She lost her elder sister and mother to the deadly virus last month. The cricketer's entire family was infected with the virus.

While others have managed to beat the virus, Veda's mother and sister lost their battle with the virus and breathed their last in a span of two weeks.

For the first time, the cricketer opened up about the trauma of losing people, who had a big role in shaping her career. I was completely destroyed and I am slowly learning to cope up with it, she said.

Veda Krishnamurthy spoke to 'ESPNcricinfo' and spoke about the loss she suffered and said, she was hopeful that her sister would beat the virus. All of us were broken to pieces, she said.

The player said, Mental strength is key in the battle and said, her sister had panic attacks before she lost her battle to the virus. Veda added that her mother might also have panicked, as she knew that, all the family members were tested Covid positive.

Veda Krishnamurthy has represented India in 48 ODIs and 76 T20 Internationals so far. She was not selected for forthcoming India's tour of England. India and England will lock horns for one Test and three ODIs and three T20s.
