Veteran lyricist Vaali passes away
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 July 2013 2:52 PM GMTRenowned lyricist Vaali breathed his last at a hospital in Chennai on Thursday evening at around 5 pm due to prolonged respiratory illness. He has written about 10,000 songs and he is in the business for five decades. He worked with three generation of music directors and recently wrote a song for Dhanush's film Maryan and the number composed by AR Rahman is topping the charts.
The 82-year-old was born on October 29, 1931. He was an All-India Radio artist once and even acted in the films like Sathya, Hey Ram and few others. He was the recipient of India's fourth highest civilian honour - Padma Sri.
