Minister of State for External Affair VK Singh made it clear that Vijay Mallya will be brought back to India soon after the Britain Laws permit his extradition. 'Extradition isn't a simple process. Enforcement Directorate have already sent documents to UK. We will bring Mallya back to India when law permits,' he said.

Vijay Mallya owes consortium of banks around Rs 9,000 crore. He fled the country in March last year after banks moved court seeking his prosecution in loan default case. India sought extradition of Mallya when British PM visited our country. Scortland Yard arrested the Liquor Baron on April 18th this year but he obtained bail within hours.

In May 2017, A 4-Member CBI and ED Team went to London to submit required documents for the extradition of Vijay Mallya for alleged loan default, cheating and money laundering. The latest statement of Centre sends an indication that Mallya's deportation might not happen any time soon.

Mallya was mocked by cricket fans when he came to the stadium for watching India-South Africa Champions League Match on last Sunday. People called him 'chor' and even shared this footage online.
