Vijay Sai Reddy's appointment as AP Special Representative with Cabinet Status in the past led to a debate. Why because, He was already a Rajya Sabha Member and hence can't hold dual Offices of Profit. TDP had even contemplated on complaining to Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu seeking the disqualification of YCP's No.2.
To avoid any such glitches, YCP Government re-appointed Vijay Sai Reddy as AP Special Representative but he couldn't avail any benefits including salary. In that way, The possibility of facing disqualification has been ruled out as such kind of appointment don't fall under the Office of Profit clause.
Pro-TDP Media aired news items saying YCP won't be continuing Vijay Sai Reddy as the AP Special Representative citing Office of Profit norm. CM Jaganmohan Reddy yet again proved he is efficient enough to tackle any such hurdles. An ordinance was passed re-appointing Vijay Sai Reddy as the AP Special Representative.
