She was a trial-blazer in film industry and was known as Lady Amitabh. As a politician, she was a firebrand leader and orator. But, Vijayasanthi has been in political hibernation for the last four years. She was never seen in public after losing to Padma Devender Reddy from Medak assembly constituency in the 2014 assembly elections. Though she is in touch with the cadre, Vijayasanthi was confined to Delhi. But, suddenly, few months ago she surfaced with her supporters clashing with the supporters of Sasidhar Reddy. Indicating her return to active politics, Vijayasanthi carried 'Bangaru Bonam' this Bonalu festival at Ujjain Mahankali temple.
Now, she has reportedly told the Congress bosses that she is willing to play a more active role. If the buzz we are hearing is right, she might be given the responsibility of Telangana Congress election campaign committee. She might even contest from either Patancheru or Medak.
Vijayasanthi, who began with the BJP, formed her own party later. Then, she joined the TRS. She was elected MP from Medak. Then, she resigned from the TRS and joined the Congress. So, will Ramulamma be as fiery in 2019 as she used to be till 2014? Will she be able to work her magic?
