Vijayawada Metro Rail's DPR submitted

Former MD of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation E Seedharan who was appointed as AP Govt's principal advisor on metro rail projects on Sunday submitted a detailed project report (DPR) of Vijayawada metro rail project to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Vijayawada metro rail covers two corridors. Although the estimated cost of the project is Rs.5,705 crore, It might increase to Rs.6,823 crore by the time the work is done (most probably 2019).
Vijayawada Metro Rail - Corridor 1: Pandit Nehru Bus TerminaI to Penamaluru (12.76 km). Estimated Cost: Rs 2,557 crore.
Vijayawada Metro Rail - Corridor 2: Pandit Nehru Buse Terminal to Nidamanauru. Estimated Cost: Rs 3,148 crore.
Requirement of Land: Government Land: 1,595 hectares; Private Land: 29.444 hectares.
