Vijayendra Prasads Statements On Gandhi Turns Viral!

India's ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli's father Vijayendra Prasad was recently given the Rajya Sabha ticket under the non-politician category. This is very prestigious and gives immense pride to many of his admirers. VIjayendra Prasad has been a story writer for more than three decades and barring his son's blockbusters, he penned stories for many hits like 'Bhajrangi Bhaijaan', 'Mersal', 'Manikarnika' and others.

While he got elected as Rajya Sabha member, the comments he made about Mahatma Gandhi during an interview for 'RRR' are now becoming viral. He tried to mention the wrong decisions Gandhi took. He tried to give an explanation about why Gandhi and Nehru's images weren't used in the last song when many freedom fighters were mentioned.

His answer is sure to make Gandhi followers and admirers angry. He said that Gandhi sidelined Sardar Vallabhai Patel in order to make Nehru the Prime Minister. When the British were leaving they told Gandhi to elect the Prime Minister according to Vijayendra Prasad. He added that Congress used to have 17 PCC's at that time and over 15 members have advised Gandhi to elect Patel as the Prime Minister. While one vote was for Acharya Krupalani, the other person gave a blank note. He said that no one suggested Jawaharlal Nehru.

He stated that Gandhi created an 18th PCC and created an opportunity for Nehru to become a PM. Prasad questioned if Gandhi had a belief in democracy, why did he do it. While these points were never raised before, the senior writer seems to have dug it out on his own. He even opined that had Patel been the first PM, Kashmir would not have ended up as a burning fire. He said that Patel merged 561 princely states into India.

While this interview happened a few months before, this came to light as he became a Rajya Sabha member. While his comments are getting praise from right-wingers, a lot of left-wingers are bashing him and saying that it is an RSS school of thought.
