Village Secretariats: Contractors are Struggling to Get Bills!

After coming to power, the YSRCP led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had come up with a flagship idea to have village Secretariats to decentralize the administration. The idea of having the setup is to bring all the services under one roof. By coming to the secretariat, one can get the required information and assistance.
While the Andhra Pradesh government has been dubbing the Village Secretariats as successful, there is a criticism against the idea that it had failed to reach the expectations and the Village Secretariat idea has been a total failure.
On top of this, the contractors in the state have been alleging that their bills are not getting cleared despite finishing the work. The same is the case with the Village Secretariats as the buildings of the system were built by the contractors.
A contractor had shown his protest over the delay in the clearance of bills. The contractor who hails from YSR district's Appanapalli Panchayat had locked the Village Secretariat. As a result, the employees of the secretariat had to sit outside the office.
The contractor said that he has been waiting for the payment of the balance amount and having fed up with the officers, he took this step. His comments raise a doubt that the government is flaunting the Village Secretariat as a successful venture, but contractors are yet to get their bills.
