Truth Behind Old Lady-Teen Girl's Viral Pic

A Photograph of a Teenage Girl weeping while holding an Old Woman affectionately has been circulating on the social media widely in the recent past. As per the Social Media Post, The Girl accidentally met her Grandmother when she was on a school trip to an old-age home. It's been publicized that Parents had lied to the Girl about the whereabouts of her Grandmother.
However, The story that's been in circulation is untrue. The picture was actually captured by Photojournalist Kalpesh S Bharech in 2007 for Gujarati daily Divya Bhaskar. Girl's Grandmother Damayanti Panchal moved to an Old Age Home voluntarily after the demise of her Husband. Though the Girl, Bhakti Panchal, knew that her Grandmother stays at an Old Age Home, She wasn't aware of which one it is. So, She got emotional upon meeting her Grandmother unexpectedly.
On World Photography Day (August 19th), BBC Gujarati asked Journalists in the state to share the best Photo Stories of their careers. Kalpesh S Bharech shared the above photograph and Netizens interpreted it wrongly.
