Virat Kohli Reaches 23k Runs Across Formats In Lesser Innings

The Run machine, Virat Kohli took lesser innings to reach the milestone making him the fastest player to do so.
Virat Kohli took just 490 innings to reach the milestone. He broke the record held by God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar. With this, Sachin Tendulkar who achieved the milestone in 522 innings had slipped to the second position.
The Indian captain had scripted history during the Indian innings on Day 1 on Thursday. Five other players have reached the milestone earlier. However, they took more innings than Virat Kohli. Ricky Ponting (544), Jacques Kallis (551), Kumar Sangakkara (568), Rahul Dravid (576), and Mahela Jayawardena (645) are the other players to have reached the 23k run milestone.
Looking at the players that have found themselves in the list of highest runs, Virat Kohli is at the seventh place, while Sachin Tendulkar who had retired from cricket in 2013 remained in the top post with 34357. Sri Lanka's legendary player is in second place with 28016 runs.
