Indian Skipper Virat Kohli received Padma Shri honor from the President of India. There was a huge applause from the members when the name of the Superstar of World Cricket is being announced.

Seven other sportspersons received Padma Shri awards. This include Paralympian Mariyappan Thangavelu & Deepa Malik, Wrestler Sakshi Malik, Gumnast Dipa Karmakar, Hockey Captain PR Sreejesh, Blind Cricket Team Captain Shekhar Naik and Discus Thrower Vikas Gowda.
