Virender Sehwag Says Virat Kohli Quitting As RCB Captain will Not Help The Team
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Nov 2020 2:38 PM GMTAmid growing criticism against Virat Kohli's performance and leadership skills in the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2020, the RCB skipper found support in the form of former Indian opener Virender Sehwag.
Talking to the Indian cricket news website Cricbuzz, Virender Sehwag supported Virat Kohli and said the skipper cannot do anything if the team is not good.
The former Indian player said when Virat Kohli is able to register wins across platforms for the Indian team, but coming to the IPL scenario his RCB is unable to win the matches.
Unlike several Cricket analysts and former player Gautam Gambhir, Sehwag found fault with the team members Virat Kohli is getting as Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) squad for IPL.
Talking about the batting resources, Sehwag said RCB has got only Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, who shuffle their batting order based on the requirement, and said RCB management should think about getting good players.
Adding further, Sehwag said RCB should get an extra opener and a middle-order batsman and with one more opener and middle-level batsman, RCB can win the games comfortably.
In the second qualifier match, RCB lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday and got eliminated from the tournament. Asked to bat first, RCB managed to put 131 on the scoreboard.
Despite losing early wickets, SRH chased the target with 2 balls left. In a nail-biting match, Jason Holder guided SRH home by smashing two fours in the last over. Kane Williamson's half-century needs a special mention here. He smashed 50 runs off 44 deliveries.
