Is BJP set to lose another MLA to the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh? It appears so as BJP MLA from Vizag and BJP's legilature party leader in AP Assembly Vishnu Kumar Raju is all set to leave the party. On Wednesday, he met Chandrababu Naidu personally and held talks with him for over half-an-hour. This set off speculations that he might switch sides.
Of the four MLAs that the BJP had, Kamineni Srinivas has joined the TDP and Akula Satyanarayana joined the Jana Sena. There has been intense speculation about Raju's future moves. However, Raju had recently said that he would continue to work for the BJP and that he would not join the TDP. But, only days after this statement, he met the TDP boss at his Amaravati office. This sent the political watchers into a tizzy.
Only one MLA of the BJP - former minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao of Tadepalligudem, remains steadfastly with the BJP. Rao, an RSS man, has been with the party since its inception. It is not, however, clear what would be Vishnu Kumar Raju's next move.
