YS Vivekananda Reddy's death case saw a big development with the arrest of Bhaskar Reddy, father of Avinash Reddy, who is serving as the Kadapa MP. After grilling him, the investigating officers arrested him. His arrest came days after arresting Uday Kumar Reddy. In a small gap, the two were arrested by the CBI officers.
Now the case saw a big development with the Court granting custody of the duo. The High Court issued directives saying that the CBI can take custody of Bhaskar Reddy and Uday Kumar Reddy. The two accused are in the Chanchalguda prison now.
In the orders, the High Court said that the CBI can question Bhaskar Reddy and Uday Kumar Reddy from the 19th to the 24th of this month. The questioning time was fixed between morning 9 to evening 5. The custody was granted for six days by the High Court.
After the CBI took over the case, a new angle was found that money was involved in killing the MP. The CBI has been alleging that the accused knew the plan and carried out the attack that killed the MP.
The CBI told the court through the lawyers that the officers arrested Bhaskar Reddy as he can influence the case investigation and he was not cooperating with the officers. The agency also said that money in big numbers was involved in the attack. CBI added that they will get more details if they question them in custody.
