Viveka murder: Cops arrest Kadapa MP Avinash's father Bhasker Reddy

In a development that has wider implications, father of Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy's father Bhaskar Reddy was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the early hours of Sunday. The arrest came in connection with the gruesome murder of former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy. He was picked up from his Pulivendula home and was taken to Hyderabad, according to sources.
He was questioned for several hours before being taken into custody. Later, the sleuths gave a memo to Bhaskar Reddy. A large number of supporters of YS Avinash Reddy in addition to YSRCP activists, who gathered at Avinash Reddy's residence in Pulivendula tried to resist the arrest and the subsequent shifting to Hyderabad. However, the CBI sleuths managed to ward them off and take Bhaskar Reddy to Hyderabad.
MP Avinash Reddy accompanied his father to Hyderabad, according to sources. It may be recalled that only two days ago, the CBI sleuths arrested Avinash Reddy's close associate Gajjala Uday KumarReddy. The police arrested him on the bases of the Google Takeout information that Reddy was present at Avinash Reddy's residence before Vivekananda Reddy's murder.
The police argue that Udai Kumar Reddy, Avinash Reddy, Bhaskar Reddy and SivaShanker Reddy have tried to obliterate evidence related to Viveka's murder. The remand report of Uday also argued that he was present at Avinash Reddy's house till the news of Viveka's murder was out.
