By: Tupaki Desk | 27 Oct 2015 2:57 PM ISTChinese smartphone maker VIVO replaced Pepsi as the title sponser of Indian Premier League (IPL) recently. BCCI Chief Secretary Anurag Thakur unveiled the 'VIVO IPL' logo, confirming the new development.
In fact, Pepsi was supposed to be the title sponser of IPL from 2013 to 2017. However, The soft-drink company decided to dis-associate itself with IPL following the spot-fixing controversy.
Even though Lodha Committee appointed by Supreme Court banned Chennai Super Kings & Rajasthan Royals for 2 years, BCCI made it clear two new teams will be playing in IPL in place of them for the next two years. After studying the recommendation of the committee, BCCI will call for the bidding allowing interested parties to claim ownership of two new IPL Franchises for 2 years.
