By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Feb 2019 9:49 AM GMTEnforcement Directorate (ED) served notices to TDP MLC Ven Narendar Reddy asking him to appear for questioning in connection with the cash-for-vote case. The ultimate target behind the latest move could be Congress Working President Revanth Reddy.
Four years ago, Revanth Reddy was caught red handed while offering bribe to TRS Nominated MLA Stephenson for the victory of TDP Leader Vem Narendar Reddy in the MLC Elections. Forensic Report confirmed that the voice in the audio tape is that of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. ACB named then TDP MLAs Revanth Reddy, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and 5 others as accused in the case.
Jerusalem Mathaiah moved High Court claiming to be innocent and obtained a clean chit. Later, ACB challenged the High Court verdict. On the other hand, YCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy moved Supremo Court seeking prosecution of CM Chandrababu Naidu. ACB found out that hawala money was used to bribe the TRS Nominated MLA. Following which, ACB has written a letter to Union Home Ministry and Enforcement Directorate to take up the case. ED has already questioned Revanth Reddy in connection with the case. And now, Vem Narendar Reddy received the notices and he will have to appear before ED within a week. ED will grill the TDP MLC to find out who sponsored the Rs 50 lakh offered to Stephenson.
Revanth Reddy is contemplating on contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls. The Fire Brand Leader could be the target of the latest move of Enforcement Directorate.
