GHMC Elections: Voters Picked BJP Over Congress!
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Dec 2020 1:00 PM GMTWhenever the polling takes place, the voters who are not happy with the ruling party's governance vote for other parties, which they think can be the alternative to the ruling party.
Looks like the voters in the GHMC region followed the same trend in the recently held local body elections. Voters who are against the ruling TRS voted for the saffron party.
Since the campaign for the local body elections in the Greater Hyderabad region started, both ruling TRS and BJP campaigned vigorously aiming to win the GHMC Mayor post.
Strong leaders joining the BJP party before the elections favored the saffron party. Leaders like Banda Karthika Reddy, who once served as Hyderabad Mayor left the Congress party like an orphan.
With no strong leader in the Congress party, the voters are believed to have voted in the favour of the saffron party. The trend can be clearly seen in the way BJP is leading major divisions in the Greater Hyderabad region.
The political analysts' opinion that the voters who think Congress is nowhere in the political fray have picked the saffron party over the Congress party and voted for it.
