War Of Sons-In-Laws In TRS
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Aug 2020 4:58 AM GMTIn the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti, an undeclared war of the sons-in-law is on. Yes. You heard it right. At least two sons-in-laws of senior leaders are now vying for the same seat. It remains to be seen as to which son-in-law emerges victor or whether both will be left high and dry.
Srinivas Reddy, the son-in-law for former home minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, is trying hard to secure an MLC seat under the Governor's quota. Nayini Narasimha Reddy has completed his term and there are remote chances of his getting re-nominated. Nayini is seeking a ticket for his son-in-law. Nayini tried to secure an MLA ticket for Srinivas Reddy during the 2018 assembly elections too.
Another powerful minister in KCR cabinet, Chamakura Malla Reddy is also lobbying for a nominated MLC post for his son-in-law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy. Marri was given an MP ticket from Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency. He lost to Congress firebrand leader Revanth Reddy. Malla Reddy is moving his pawns diligently to please KCR and get a seat for Reddy.
Several TRS leaders are talking in hushed tones about this battle of sons-in-law. While Nayini has been with the TRS from the early stages and is known to be a man of meagre financial resources, Malla Reddy joined TRS formally ahead of 2018 elections and became a minister. He is a financially rich and politically powerful personality. Let's see who wins in this interesting battle.
