After visiting Gandhi hospital, Chief Minister KCR is now planning to visit all key district level hospitals. He has decided to meet the hospital authorities and the patients suffering from Covid 19. While this is instilling confidence among the patients and is keeping the medical officials on their toes, there is a political side to this too.
Sources in the government say that the idea is to eclipse Etela Rajender. By frequently visiting the hospitals, KCR will obliterate the legacy of Etela Rajender. Also, he will grab media headlines when he visits the hospitals. Thus, the coverage for Etela will be reduced. While KCR will talk Covid, Etela would be seen as someone who is trying to save his lands and get his ministry back.
At the same time, leaders like Rajya Sabha member Captain Lakshmikantha Rao are holding several meetings with the party workers in Huzurabad to ensure that there is support for Etela. The Captain has been trying to make his wife as the TRS candidate for the byelection for Huzurabad if and when it happens. Meanwhile, even KCR is said to have summoned Peddi Sudarshan Reddy and Challa Dharma Reddy and discussed about Huzurabad politics. Thus , KCR is trying to completely sideline Etela.
With Covid news and CM's visit hogging the limelight, Etela would be pushed to the background. Etela would be left to defend his Huzurabad citadel, while KCR will get state-wide publicity. This will reduce Etela to a small-time player.
