What Can't the land allocated to Galla Foods be taken back?: HC
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Sept 2021 12:44 PM ISTThe Galla Foods owned by opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP) MP Galla Jayadev faced a big blow in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The Court ordered that the land allocated to the firm should be taken back as the firm failed to meet the purposes of setting up a unit.
One Gali Purushothama Naidu, a resident of Nallagattupalli village in Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh has moved the High Court seeking directives to take back the land that was allocated to the Galla foods.
Justice U. Durga Prasad Rao had heard the petition and asked why the research and development unit was not set up in the land that was allocated to the firm. As per the norms, the unit should be set up within two years of the land allocation. But it was not done, the Justice said.
Adjourning the next hearing to the 14th of this month, the High Court had directed the Chief Secretary of the Department of Industries, APIIC Chairman and MD, APIIC Zonal Manager, and Galla Foods to file the counter-affidavits in the issue.
As per the media reports, Galla Foods was allocated 28 acres of land in the Chittoor district. The land allocation was reportedly made in 2011, even after a decade of the allocations, the unit was set up.
