What for KCR demanding Special Status to AP?

Much to everyone's surprise, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao extended support to the demand for Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. This happened weeks after his Daughter & Nizamabad MP Kavitha sought Special Status to AP and demanded fulfillment of promises made in AP Reorganization Act 2014.
Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan wholeheartedly than KCR and Kavitha for what they have done. He felt the support extended by Telangana Government in this situation means a lot.
Congress Leaders question, 'Why KCR sought Special Status for AP instead of demanding the rightful share of Telangana in the Union Budget? He should have mounted pressure on Centre for resolving pending issues of the Telangana state'.
Analysts say, KCR seems to be planning to crush BJP in Telangana by conveying to people that the National Party would never fulfill its promises. He could gain the trust of Andhra Settlers in Telangana by supporting Special Status demand. This move would also bring TDP close to TRS so that there won't be any hurdles to form an alliance in next polls.
