Samudrala Venugopalachary⦠time was when he was a strong leader in north Telangana, especially in the undivided Adilabad district. He was a three-time MLA and three-time MP from Adilabad district. He was a minister in the Chandrababu cabinet. But today, he is in political hibernation and is at the crossroads of his political career.
In 2014 elections, he contested on TRS ticket and lost the election. Yet, KCR appointed him as the government representative in New Delhi. He was given an extension too. But, now for the past three years, he does not have any post. He is continuing in the TRS without any recognition. During this period, he has also lost touch with the cadre and supporters, who gradually drifted away from him. Now his biggest problem is that he has lost touch with day-to-day politics.
Of late, he is rumoured to be in touch with the BJP leaders at the Centre and there are reports that he might join the BJP ahead of the 2023 elections. Sources close to him say that he is believed to be telling his supporters to stay united and that he would make his political moves in 2023 elections.
