High Drama took place at the offices of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley prior to the announcement of Special Package. Naidu held several rounds of discussions with Arun Jaitley over the package. While Chief Minister discussed about the central assistance with Ministers present in Vijayawada, Arun Jaitley briefed on the kind of support Centre gonna offer to AP during meetings with Sujana Chowdary and TDP MPs.
Few hours before the official announcement, Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu contacted Chandrababu Naidu over phone and told him it would be nice if he attends the press conference with Finance Minister. AP CM, however, turned down the proposal saying he can't do so if Centre doesn't fulfill the 9 demands of the State Government. As a result, Only Venkaiah Naidu and Sujana Chowdary were present during the press meet held by Union Finance Minister on Wednesday.
