When Hero Battles His Father...

Poll-bound Tamil Nadu is witnessing strange things happening. For the first ever time, a party named after a film star has come into existence. Neither NTR nor MGR nor Jayalalithaa had parties named after them. But, a party named after popular Tamil Hero Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay has come into existence. This was formed by no less a person than Vijay's father SA Chandrasekhar, popularly known as SAC.
More interestingly, for the first ever time, the party will be called a fan club. SAC has titled his party as All India Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (All India Vijay Fans Association). None of the film stars who entered politics have named their party as fan club.
However, Vijay seems to be upset by this and has even slammed his father. He not only asked his fans not to join the party but also said in no uncertain terms that he has nothing to do with the party. He even said that he would take legal action if the party goes ahead. Vijay has issued a strongly-worded press note to this effect. In the statement, he said: ' I request my fans to not join the party that my father has started or work for it. There is no relationship between that party and our fan club.' He added that he would take strong action against anyone using his name or photo for the purpose.
