When Will AP BJP Speak In One Voice?
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 July 2020 5:39 AM GMTWhen will the AP BJP speak in one voice? Despite the BJP doing wonderous things at the national level, the AP BJP appears to be divided, demoralised and dispirited. This perhaps is the only state where every party candidate has lost his security deposit in 2019 elections. And this happened when Modi wave was sweeping the nation.
Unfortunately for the BJP, its AP leaders are speaking in different voices. On the issue of shifting of capital from Amaravati, leaders like Kanna Laxminarayana and Sujana Choudary rooted for Amaravati, while leaders like PVN Madhav welcomed the move to set up the capital in Vizag. On the issue of the revolt by YSRCP MP Raghuramakrishnam Raju against his own party, the same story is being repeated. Venkaiah Naidu protege Satya Kumar backed Raghuramakrishnam Raju and criticised the YSRCP leadership, while several other leaders, including Kanna Lakshminarayana feel that it is an internal matter of the YSRCP and that the BJP has no reason to comment.
On the issue of Sujana Chowdary and Kamineni Srinivas meeting controversial civil servent Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, the BJP has not even asked these two leaders for an explanation. How and why were they acting on behalf of Chandrababu even while remaining in the BJP? The BJP is yet to ask this question. On almost every issue, the party is speaking in more than two voices. Will the BJP correct itself or continue to falter as usual?
