Where are all the GHMC corporators?

They are elected public representatives, who had promised to work for the common man. The GHMC corporators are expected to have their ears to the ground have a responsibility to ensure medical beds for the needy, oxygen cylinders for the critical patients and nutritious food for the vulnerable people.
But, in these critical times of Corona, where are all the corporators of the GHMC? Most of them are missing in action. While NGOs and social activists have been providing food, medical assistance and transportation to the needy, the corporators are not to be seen anywhere in action. There are 150 corporators in the GHMC. In addition, over 50 ex officio members are there in the city. But, not many of them are seen doing the work among the vulnerable sections. Except some corporators, who are living in quarantine after serving the needy, majority are not active at all.
The civic bodies in cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai have set up isolation centres and treatment centres for patients with mild symptoms. They have converted schools, empty hospitals function halls and guesthouses into isolation centres for the needy. But, GHMC has not done anything of that sort so far and there is no pressure from any corporator. The GHMC has not held its mandatory quarterly council meet at least on virtual mode.
