Where are the verbal fireworks, Mr Revanth Reddy?
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 Jun 2021 1:16 PM GMTOne expected lot of verbal fireworks from the newly-elected Telangana Congress Committee chief Enumula Revanth Reddy. Normally, Revanth Reddy is known for his power-packed punch lines and caustic comments. Hence, many felt that he would train his guns on KCR and KTR in his first comments after being elevated to the top post.
But, in an anti-climax of sorts, Revanth Reddy was quite subdued and guarded in his comments. Speaking to a handful of media houses, he was very circumspect. It appeared that Revanth realized this was no 20-20 match and that it is a five-day test match. So, played backward defence and bide his time. Striking a conciliatory tone, he said he would take everyone along and that he would give importance to loyal party workers. He said he would strive to live up to the expectations of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
He said the Congress was like a family and there were bound to be differences of opinion. They should not be seen as rivalry. He said Komatireddys were like his own family and added that he would prepare an action plan in consultation with Uttam Kumar Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka and Jana Reddy. While he tried to strike a conciliatory chord, the loyal party workers were a wee bit disappointment with the routine comments. Where are the fireworks, some Congress workers were seen asking themselves.
