Remember Kambhampati Haribabu? He was BJP state president before Kanna Laxminarayana took over. Once, he was considered a giant killer as he had defeated YSRCP honorary president Vijaymma with over one lakh votes from Visakhapatnam constituency. But today, he is nowhere in the reckoning and no one, including the party top leadership, is bothering to talk about him.
He was party president for five crucial years. But, he was always seen as a Chandrababu's man. He had always rooted for an alliance with the TDP and was on the best of the terms with Chandrababu naidu. In fact, there was a strong buzz that he would be made a minister during Modi 1.0. But, that did not happen and he always maintained a low profile. He did not even bother to defend the BJP when accusations were being hurled at it in the name of special status to AP. It was because of his tame attitude that the party had replaced him with Kana Laxminarayana.
Ever since Kanna became the party president, Hari Babu began staying aloof from the party activities. He did not even bother to contest the elections this time. He did not campaign for the part in the just concluded elections. As a result, the BJP too did not bother about him. Now, Haribabu's isolation is almost complete and no BJP leader is even meeting him. There is no call from the central leadership also.
