Where will you get Rs 7.5 lakh crore KCR sir?
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 Oct 2018 10:38 AM GMTWhen hedging bets, politicians usually forget whether they can actually pool up monies needed for welfare. Look at TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and Telangana CM KCR and their elections promises. Both are vying with another in promising moon. When Uttam Kumar Reddy announced his manifesto, TRS chief's son and minister KTR said to implement these promises, the government of Telangana will have to pool up the budgets of all the South Indian states.
Barely did the sarcasm sink in than KCR himself came up with his manifesto and the manifesto is one up on Congress manifesto. Now, to implement all the other schemes that both have announced, the government needs at least Rs 1.50 lakh crore. This means, the Government will need Rs 7.5 lakh crores in five years. But, what is Telangana Government's total revenue? It's not more than Rs 90000 crore. This amount is used to pay the salaries and take up non-plan and plan expenditure. So, it needs an another 1.50 lakh crore every year to implement the poll promises. It needs Rs 50000 crore for various pension schemes. For Rythu bandhu, Rythu Bima, Aasara and Beedi workers' honorarium, the government needs Rs 1.04 lakh crore. To pay the salaries, the government needs Rs 30000 crore. Where will they get the money from?
If the sources are to be believed, the Government has taken loans to a tune of Rs 2.5 lakh crore. To repay them and to pay the interest is a tall order. When the Government if finding it difficult to make the ends meet, where will it get the needed money for all these promises? All these promises are sure to sink the Telangana government without trace.
