Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at Congress Party by recalling a statement made by Rajiv Gandhi when he was PM of the country. Rajiv once said only 15 paise of every rupee sanctioned by the Government reaches its beneficiary.
At the rally in Ujjire near Dharmasthala, Narendra Modi questioned, 'Which hand brought down Rupee to 15 Paise? One of the Prime Ministers had said every Rupee gets reduced to 15 Paise when it reaches the beneficiary in village'.
Modi opined it's now the time for digital economy and India can't lag behind in the economic history. Mentioning about the RuPay Cards introduced for Self-Help Groups, PM asked, 'Aren't our women in rural areas educated? 12 lakh people shifted to cashless businesses. If your intention is good, Even obstacles contributes to quick results. I congratulate you for driving towards less-cash society. Use Bhim App, There is no place for those who cheat the system'.
