Which Party Will Be Benefited By High voter turnout in MLC polls?

The massive increase in the voting percentage is turning out to be a surprise for all the major contestants in the Graduate constituency MLC elections. There was a significant increase in the polling in both Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar constituency as well as the Warangal-Khammam-Karimnagar constituency.

This is quite unusual as normally less that 50 per cent polling gets registered in the graduate constituency elections. In Hyderabad, the polling percentage rose by 22 per cent per cent, while in the other constituency, the polling percentage was a staggeringly high 76.35. There was unusually high enthusiasm among the young and first time voters. They queued up at the polling booths in large numbers. The political parties are now trying to analyse as to what is the meaning of the high voter turnout and as to which party would be benefited by the enthusiastic voting.

The opposition parties feel that this high voter turnout among the youths could mean the voting could go against the ruling party. They argue that the disenchantment over rising unemployment and lack of growth avenues could be reflected in the elections. The TRS circles feel that the party's strategy has worked out and the voters have come out in large number to support it. As of now, the fate of the candidates is sealed in the ballot boxes. The results would be out on March 17.
