While heat is on in Huzurabad, Cong biggies camp in Delhi
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Jun 2021 4:01 AM GMTHuzurabad bypoll heat has begun and the main contenders are pulling all plugs. The TRS has already mobilised its leaders and cadres in a big way and not to be left behind, Eatala too is working hard. Where is the Congress Party amidst all this? The party is still in sleep mode as far as Huzurabad is concerned.
Two of its major leaders, who have the charisma and resources, are out in Delhi. Both working president Revanth Reddy and PPC chief post aspirant Komatireddy Venkat Reddy are now camping in New Delhi. They are likely to be there for another three days. Both the leaders are seeking Sonia Gandhi's appointment to present their respective cases. Several other key Congress leaders too are currently in Delhi lobbying their cases. The anticipation has grown as the Congress has appointed a new president for Kerala and has resolved the leadership dispute in poll'bound Punjab. So Telangana Congress leaders are hopeful that the long pending issue of Telangana PCC chief's appointment too would be resolved now.
While Revanth Reddy appears to be a strong contender for the post of the PCC chief, Komatireddy is also trying his luck. Some seniors like V Hanumanth Rao are staunchly opposed to the candidature of Revanth Reddy and have already told the High Command that anyone except Revanth Reddy was acceptable to them.
