Who did Telangana Congress affairs incharge Manickam Tagore meet early on Sunday? If highly placed sources are to be believed, accompanied by a party aide, Manickam started in his car in the wee hours of the day and met a senior politician at the latter's residence. The two leaders remained closeted for over an hour, according to sources.
Interestingly, sources say that the leader who met Manickam Tagore is from the TRS. The said leader is in a key position in the party and has been unhappy for quite some time over KCR's policies. Sources say that the meeting took place in the early hours of Sunday morning. However, others say that Tagore met a senior BJP leader, who is unhappy in his party.
Sources say that by pouching the BJP leader, Tagore wants to show that there is discontent in the BJP and that several leaders were unhappy with the way things are being run in the party in Telangana. The plan is to weaken the BJP by exposing its shortcomings. The aim is to puncture the BJP claims that it is the only alternative to the TRS.
Manickam Tagore is working hard to ensure that the different warring groups within the Congress fall in line. He has sent clear signals that the party leaders, however senior, should work under the leadership of Revanth Reddy. Sources also say that he is planning to send clear signals to leaders like Turpu Jagga Reddy by initiating action against them.
