The Monkeypox virus which is spreading like a wildfire brought a lot of concerns to many countries. Though there are vaccines for the virus, experts feel that the vaccines cannot cure the virus completely, and just like Covid, isolation should be followed. As of now, close to 30 nations have reported the virus infections.

Director-General of Global Health Agency WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in his recent press briefing spoke about the virus and said that the countries should focus on improving the testing and tracking of all the cases. He also said those who contacted them should also be checked.

"Over 1,000 #monkeypox cases have been reported from 29 countries where the disease is not endemic, with no deaths reported so far in these countries. @WHO urges affected countries to identify all cases and contacts to control the outbreak and prevent onward spread," the WHO chief tweeted along with sharing his video clip from the briefing.

The global health body said that the virus can be transmitted through sexual contact between infected people and others and hence people should be careful. He also said that those who develop symptoms should not be careless and they should visit the doctor.

However, the initial data suggests that gays have more threat of the monkeypox as the virus is believed to be transmitted via semen. Stressing about the same, the WHO said that people who are positive for the virus should be more careful.
