Who is R Mani Naidu? This is the question most political watchers in AP are asking now!! R Mani Nadu, a largely unknown commodity in Andhra Pradesh, has been appointed as the incharge of Aam Aadmi Party in Andhra Pradesh. He will lead the AAP's charge in Andhra Pradesh.
The AAP, which has serious plans to expand in South India, is said to be targeting Andhra Pradesh. The party feels that it stands a fair chance as the people are fed up with the ruling YSRCP and at the same time, do not see Chandrababu as a credible alternative. The party feels it can emerge as an alternative if it builds a strong and sound organization.
Mani Naidu, an NRI, has worked as the party incharge for the corporation elections in Chandigarh and has proved his mettle. The AAP emerged as the single largest party in this supposed BJP citadel. His work has been appreciated and his abilities were recognized by Arvind Kejriwal, who made him the incharge for AP. Till now, Somnath Bharti was the incharge for the whole of South India. Now, he is incharge for only Telangana, while Mani Naidu has been appointed incharge for AP. Mai Naidu is also the president of the Delhi Andhra Association.
The AAP is holding its first state level convention in Vijayawada on April 24. State AAP advisor Pothina Venkata Rama Rao, convener Prasad, former MLA Chinnam Ramakotaiah, state general secretary Kambhampati Krishnamurthy and others would attend the meeting. Sources said that the meeting would discuss membership drive, outreach programmes and defections from other parties into AAP.
